I had been reading Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens, about a girl growing up in the desolate marshes of North Carolina. When I walked to Aldi supermarket, past this swampy bit of land, next to a thunderous road by the way, I kept thinking of the book. The two places couldn’t be any different I know but each time I pass by I can’t get it out of my head.
