Small Fires #14

When my son sent me a few photos of a bonfire in his garden (too much hedge cutting) I felt a weird need to keep painting all those flames and cold over and over again.
There’s something quite primeval about a bonfire. Each painting has evolved into something quite different, and this one shows the enclosing nightfall.
This series is my attempt to capture the mesmerising power of fire and in some way defeat the darkness.

Size: 6" x 6" (15 x 15 cm) and is unframed, but would fit into a readily available photo frame, as plain or as fancy as you like. Or prop it on a shelf unframed.
